A Team HeroKindness Adventure

“I’ve got this. I am doing my best.”

HeroKindness™ · guide Creative Jake · Jake Ideafire™ · practices the skill Younger brother Adam · friend Cohen Daily force: tempted choices (extra candy, stretched bedtime)

Jake usually eats well and knows his bedtime. One candy from Cohen and a few late nights leave him feeling lousy and grumpy. HeroKindness does not lecture. They practice one kindness skill — starting with Jake.

The encounter

After school. Front steps. Adam is inside drawing.

Cohen offered Jake some bright candy earlier. Jake tried a few pieces. Now his stomach feels heavy and his mood feels low. He also stayed up past his bedtime a couple of nights this week. He is tired and grumpy.

HeroKindness walks up and sits beside him. Small thumbs-up.

“Hey, Jake. You look like your tank is a little low. What’s going on?”
“Cohen offered me some candy. I know I feel better when I eat real food, but I tried it anyway. Now I feel lousy. I also pushed my bedtime. I wanted to be kind to Adam and Cohen tonight, but it’s harder when I feel like this.”

HeroKindness waits one beat.

“That’s honest. The biggest kindness spark still starts with you. Self-kindness is a real superpower. Good fuel and good rest help your body send clearer messages to your brain. Kind choices with your brother and friends come easier.”
“So the candy made the difference?”
“It can. Mostly natural foods usually send steady signals. Extra candy can send heavier ones. Gentle Gia’s skill is Kind Self-Talk. After a tempted choice, notice how you feel, then take the next care step.”
“I can tell Cohen how it felt.”
“That’s a strong share. You’re telling him what you noticed in your own body — not lecturing. On sleep: one better bedtime tonight is enough to restart the habit.”

What Jake chooses

Jake nods.

“I’ve got an idea. Let’s try it. I’ll skip the rest of the candy and have an apple instead. Tonight I’ll stick to my regular bedtime. Then I’ll tell Cohen what I noticed. I can share the same idea with Adam too — as a superpower, not a rule.”
“Perfect. One better fuel choice. One better rest choice. Then you share what you learned. That’s how the spark travels — first to you, then to Cohen and Adam.”

Gentle Gia would say, “I’ve got this. I am doing my best.”

Spark Scout would catch it: “Caught a K-Spark!”

What changed: Jake filled his own tank first. The next spark goes to himself, then to the people around him.

The kindness move

Learn it: Fill your tank first. Good fuel + good rest.

  1. Notice how you feel after a tempted choice or a late night.
  2. Choose one better fuel step (real food you like).
  3. Choose one better rest step (steady bedtime).
  4. Act on both.
  5. Share what you noticed with one person — as a real difference, not a lecture.
  6. Give yourself a thumbs up.

This is not a perfect diet or perfect sleep rule. It is one better choice that helps the next kind act.

Kid try-it

Today Notice one tempted food choice and one stretched bedtime. Choose the next better step for each.

Share Tell one friend or family member (like Cohen or Adam) what you noticed in your own body.

Home After a grumpy moment, name the fuel or rest step that would help tomorrow-you. Then do one of them.

You saw the skill. Now you can practice it.

The Team Promise

I learned a kindness skill.
I will use it.
I will not use the badge to boss anyone.
I will help kindness travel — one thumbs up, one thank you, one act at a time.
