Develop Your Superpower Tool
Teacher Overview
This activity is the natural next step after Lesson 1 – Kindness as a Superpower Within All of Us.
Students move beyond the idea that “kindness is a superpower” and experience many different kinds of kindness superpowers.
Why this works in schools:
• Calm, collaborative, low-prep stations (no costumes or party energy)
• Every student tries several powers
• Naturally leads into the free “Develop Your Kindness Superpower” personal plan tool
• Fully age-banded with Kids & Teens options from the Kindness Superpower hub
Learning Objectives
- Recognize that kindness shows up in many different “superpower” forms
- Experience and reflect on several powers through short, active trials
- Identify 1–2 powers that feel most natural
- Begin a personal development path using the online tool

Teacher Script
Hook (3–4 minutes)
“In our last lesson we discovered that every single one of us already has the superpower of kindness inside us.
Today we’re going to explore the many different kinds of kindness superpowers that exist.
Some people are natural Heart Listeners. Others are Encouragers, Quiet Helpers, Joy Bringers, or Connectors.
There are even superhero-style powers like Super Speed, Invisibility, and Force Field that work perfectly for kindness.
You’re going to try several of them and notice which ones feel most like you.”
Main Activity – Station Rotation (15–25 minutes)
Set up 6–8 stations around the room (or pass the cards if space is limited).
Students work in pairs or small groups. At each station they:
1. Read the power name and short description
2. Do the 30–60 second “Try It Now” action
3. Quickly record on their sheet: one word for how it felt + one idea for using it at school
Circle Share & Choice (5–8 minutes)
“Which power felt most natural? Which one surprised you?”
Students share with a partner, then a few volunteers share with the class.
“Choose your top 1 or 2 powers. Those are the ones you can strengthen starting today.”
Bridge to Development Plan (2–3 minutes)
“When you’re ready, go to the Develop Your Kindness Superpower page.
Choose the power that felt most like you and you’ll get a simple personal plan with daily practices, a 7-day challenge, and reflection questions.
You can start it in class or as a home connection.”
Printable Station Cards
Print Instructions: Print these cards (one set per class). Cut apart or leave as full pages.
Use the core five for every grade. Add the Kids & Teens superhero-style powers for extra engagement.
Core Kindness Superpowers
(Great for all ages)
👂 Heart Listener
You create safety and presence. People feel truly heard around you.
Try It Now (30–45 sec): Turn to a partner. One person talks for 20 seconds about anything. The other only listens — no advice, just presence and a nod or “mm-hmm.” Switch.
School example: Notice when a classmate is quiet and sit with them.
🌟 Encourager
You lift spirits and help others believe in themselves again.
Try It Now: Give your partner one specific, genuine encouragement about something they did this week (effort, not just results).
School example: “I saw how hard you worked on that — that was awesome.”
🤝 Quiet Helper
You notice needs and act with thoughtful, behind-the-scenes kindness.
Try It Now: Silently tidy one small thing in the room (or pretend) without announcing it. Notice how it feels to help without credit.
School example: Pick up something that fell, sharpen a pencil for a friend, or leave a kind note.
😊 Joy Bringer
You bring warmth, laughter, and lightness into any room.
Try It Now: Share a quick smile + thumbs-up with three people nearby. Notice the energy change.
School example: Start the day with a cheerful “Good morning!” or a silly kind joke.
🌐 Connector
You build bridges and help people find each other.
Try It Now: Introduce two people (or role-play): “Hey, you both like ___ — you should talk!”
School example: Invite someone sitting alone to join your group or game.
