1. Kindness Superpower Theme Party (1.5–2.5 hrs)

Materials Checklist

  • Name tags / sticky notes + markers
  • “I HAVE KINDNESS SUPERPOWER” badges (or paper ones)
  • Optional paper capes or scarves
  • Large paper / whiteboard for Community Superpower Board
  • Printed prompt cards (below)
  • Pens + small paper for journaling
  • Refreshments

Facilitation Flow

1. Welcome & Ice-Breaker (15 min)
Name tags: “My Kindness Superpower is _______.”
Prompt: “What is one way you already make the world brighter that feels natural?”
2. Discover & Name Your Superpower (20–25 min)
Use prompt cards 1–3. Share in pairs or whole group. Optional journal entry.
3. Families & Communities Need (20 min)
“What kindness superpowers are most needed right now?” Collect on the Board.
4. Making a Difference at This Stage (15–20 min)
Reflection + Seniors Kindness Pledge.
5. Celebration & Closing (15 min)
Photo, one daily action each, group thumbs-up.

Facilitation Flow

1. Opening (10 min)
“Today we become the Kindness Newsroom. We create our own positive news.”
2. Story Gathering (30–40 min)
Share first in pairs using the prompts, then a few with the whole group. Listen with full attention.
3. Create Positive News (20 min)
Turn stories into short headlines. Write them up. Optional short recordings.
4. Closing (10–15 min)
“How has kindness changed your life story?” Each person names one headline to live this week. Group thumbs-up.

News Circle Prompt Cards (print & cut)

1. A time someone showed you unexpected kindness — what happened and how did it affect you?
2. A time you offered kindness and saw the impact.
3. A kindness inside your family that still matters years later.
4. A small everyday kindness that made a surprisingly big difference.
5. Headline Challenge: Turn your story into a short positive news headline.
6. This Week: What positive kindness headline do you want to live this week?
