This is Team HeroKindness™ in action. A new kid is at the edge. The team does not lecture. They practice one kindness skill.
Best first story for Invite Izzy. Episode title: Nobody Sits Alone.

The encounter
The game is already a circle. The rope slaps the ground. Someone calls next turn.
New-Kid Nia stands by the fence with her backpack still on. She is not hiding. She is watching. Her face says first-day-sad.
Ignore Ian walks past without looking.
“Not my problem.”
VID-03 · Ian walks past
Invite Izzy leaves the game for ten seconds. That is the skill. She does not announce “the lonely kid.” She does not grab a wrist. She walks toward the edge. She gives her Welcome Wave. She uses Nia’s name because she heard it that morning.
VID-04 · Ten-second leave
“Nia. Want to join us?”
VID-05 · Welcome Wave
She waits. Nia looks at the circle, then at the ground.
“I don’t know anyone yet.”
The adventure splits here. Both endings are kind. Room for no is part of the skill.
Choose an ending
VID-06 · The invite. Separate yes and not-yet clips can replace this once they are ready.
Ending A · Nia says yes
Izzy does not pile on words. She makes a real place.
“You can hold the end of the rope with me. If you want.”
Nia’s mouth moves toward a small yes.
“Really? Okay.”
Listen Luna steps close enough to hear, not close enough to take over.
“I am really listening to what you are saying.”
She lets Nia finish. Then one line only: “What I heard you say is, this is new.” Listening is not fixing.
Helper Hank notices the backpack. It goes on the bench so Nia can play.
“I’ve got a hand for that.”
The rope turns. Nia has a job. Not a pity invite. A real place in the game.
Spark Scout sees the moment almost go unseen. “Caught a K-Spark!” Scout keeps the credit with them: Izzy walked over. Nia said yes. The circle opened.
Thank-You Theo faces Izzy, not the air. “Izzy. Thank you. That mattered. You left the game and asked Nia.”
What changed: Nia went from the fence to a real place.
Ending B · Nia says not yet
Izzy still does not pile on words. She still makes a real place. She also leaves the door open.
“You can hold the end of the rope with me. If you want. If not yet, that’s okay. The rope will be here.”
Nia shakes her head a little. “Not yet. I don’t know anyone yet.”
Izzy nods. She does not look wounded. She does not announce Nia to the group. She does not pull.
“Okay. I’m Izzy. If you want a turn later, just come to the rope.”
Listen Luna stays near, not on top of the moment. “What I heard you say is, not yet.”
Helper Hank does not force the backpack off. The bench stays open.
Spark Scout still catches it. The K-Spark™ is the ask, not the yes. “Caught a K-Spark!”
Izzy walked over. Nia got to choose. The door stayed open.
Thank-You Theo faces Izzy. “Izzy. Thank you. That mattered. You asked once and left room for no.”
What changed: Nia did not have to be brave first. The skill still worked.

The kindness move
Learn it: Include on purpose. Walk toward the watcher.
- Look at the edge.
- Leave your circle for ten seconds.
- Walk over. Use their name if you have it.
- Say, “Want to join us?”
- Make a real place — a seat, a turn, a job.
- Wait. Leave room for no.
This is not a pity invite. This is not pulling someone by the wrist. This is a real ask.
Kid try-it
School: Notice one edge today — bench, fence, empty desk, last pick. Leave your circle for ten seconds. Ask once.
Home: Invite a sibling, cousin, or friend into one real thing. Give them a seat or a turn if they come. If they need time, leave the door open.
Collect it
This test page does not save answers yet. It is for layout only.
Safety note
Welcome Wave is an ask, not a pull. Leave room for no. Do not name someone as lonely in front of the group. Do not grab a wrist, bag, or phone to “include” them.
If a circle is being used to tease, trap, or harm, get a trusted adult. Inviting is not enough when someone is unsafe. Listening is not counseling.
If someone is in crisis or immediate danger in Canada, call 911, USA 988. In other countries, use your local emergency number.
Team HeroKindness™
You saw the skill. Now you can practice it.
The Team Promise
I learned a kindness skill.
I will use it.
I will not use the badge to boss anyone.
I will help kindness travel — one thumbs up, one thank you, one act at a time.
First mission · Welcome Wave
Walk toward one person at the edge. Ask once. Leave room for no.
