Free lesson handouts that teach real business concepts using Thumbs Up For Kindness as a real-world social venture example.

KEY CONCEPT

What is a Social Entrepreneur?

A social entrepreneur is someone who uses business skills and ideas to solve important social or environmental problems.

💡

Traditional Entrepreneur

Creates a business mainly to make profit.

❤️

Social Entrepreneur

Creates a business to solve a problem and make the world better — while still making enough money to keep going.

Thumbs Up For Kindness Example

Jeff Brown and Amey Harding saw a big problem — declining kindness, loneliness, and bullying. Instead of just wishing things were better, they started a business that sells kindness products (t-shirts, badges, kits) so they can give free resources to schools. Profit helps spread kindness.

This is a perfect real-world example for students to see that business can be a force for good.
